La pandémie a révélé la perte d’autonomie de nos grands pays riches qui détiennent des armes nucléaires, sont membres permanents de l’ONU, mais ne disposent pas des moyens élémentaires pour protéger leurs populations contre un virus.

L’ordre international bâti sous l’égide des États-Unis au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale n’est plus adapté à la réalité des rapports de force du XXIe siècle. La montée en puissance de la Chine a déstabilisé tout le système. Chine et USA déploient depuis le début de la crise beaucoup d’énergie à s’affronter. Jusqu’où cela peut-il aller ? Les USA n’exercent plus le rôle de leadership mondial. À l’ONU, le Conseil de sécurité est paralysé. L’influence de l’Europe sur l’élaboration d’un ordre mondial post-crise passe par l’organisation de sa propre reconstruction.

L’histoire, qui est toujours tragique, montre que l’effondrement des civilisations n’est pas que l’affaire des politiques, elle est en premier lieu le résultat d’une lâcheté collective qui a permis à des imposteurs de gouverner et à des barbares de ramasser le pouvoir. Est-ce bien cela que nous voulons pour les générations futures ?
