La crise syrienne n’en finit pas de s’enliser. Pendant ce temps, la communauté internationale parle beaucoup, mais se montre incapable d’agir face à un pouvoir qui se radicalise et des insurgés déterminés. Les derniers observateurs des Nations unies ont quitté le pays à la fin de leur mandat. Kofi Annan, le premier représentant de l’Onu a rendu son tablier sur un échec. Son successeur Lakhdar Brahimi, représentant spécial conjoint de l’Onu et de la Ligue arabe, se dit « effrayé » par sa mission. Au siège de l’Onu à New York, l’on évoque ouvertement le risque d’extension du conflit syrien notamment au Liban voisin, alors même que le Conseil de sécurité est paralysé par le véto russo-chinois. Quels sont les enjeux réels du conflit en syrie ? Quel rôle jouent les religions dans cette crise ? Quelle est la véritable mission de Lakhdar Brahimi ?
