Pourquoi se préoccuper de l’avenir quand il suffit de jouir du présent ?

Pour la plupart des experts en géostratégie, nous ne sommes pas encore dans « l’œil du cyclone » mais cela ne saurait tarder. Les signaux se font de plus en plus menaçants et explicites à l’horizon mais l’alerte n’a pas encore retenti au sein de notre vieille Europe.

Que nous apprend l’Afghanistan ? Que la géopolitique n’est pas morte…!

Au mois d’Août les journalistes cherchent toujours des sujets pour meubler les colonnes de leurs journaux. La prise de Kaboul par les talibans le 15 août et le départ jugé forcément « chaotique » des américains ont immédiatement saturé les unes de tous les médias jusqu’au 31 août… Puis l’information en chassant une autre, le cyclone Ida qui a frappé la côte ouest américaine, et la rentrée politique de nos démocraties, avec des échéances électorales en perspective, ont relégué l’actualité afghane au second plan, comme d’habitude… Quelle que soit l’issue politique de cette décision de quitter l’Afghanistan, (guerre la plus longue menée par les Etats-Unis et leurs coalitions) il est important de tirer les enseignements de ce dossier en matière géopolitique. Chaque crise est révélatrice à la fois des limites , des échecs, des renoncements des uns et des autres sur le plan stratégique, mais aussi de l’ouverture de nouveaux jeux de pouvoir sur le plan des relations internationales.
